Well Sown is Half Grown.

We're over the moon that we've partnered with Farm Aid to bring you Well Sown Estate Lager at the 41st Farm Aid Festival! It’s happening in Virginia Beach on September 26th.

"Well sown is half grown." It's a farming truth that means the payoff at harvest starts with investing in the land and taking care at planting.

What's true in the field is true in the community. The investment that matters most for family farms happens long before the need is visible and continues far beyond harvest. It’s shining a light on family farms by amplifying their voice and helping to connect their produce to people. Farm Aid has been a microphone and bridge builder for farmers since 1985, standing with family farmers to keep them thriving. Not just a one day festival, but over four decades of showing up for farmers. Every day.

We founded Wheatland Spring to celebrate and strengthen small agriculture by marrying farming and brewing. For us, supporting nearby family farms means genuine commitment. Like Farm Aid, it’s not a one-off beer for marketing, but supporting nearby family farms in every beer, across every year. It's especially meaningful to partner with a kindred spirit to make Well Sown Estate Lager for the 41st annual Farm Aid 2026 Festival.

We grew and brewed Well Sown here at Wheatland Spring. The grain we regeneratively grew next to our century old barn brewhouse was mashed with our natural water source and brewed with renewable energy here on our family farm in Waterford, Virginia. This beer is a celebration of the people, places, and produce that make family farms the bedrock of communities across the country.

In addition to Well Sown cans at the Farm Aid 2026 Festival, a limited amount will be available at Wheatland Spring in the coming weeks. A portion of the proceeds from every Well Sown beer and shirt sold at Wheatland Spring goes directly to Farm Aid. This helps to advance their mission of standing with family farmers across the country.
